Nobody Wants To Be Fat

Monday, June 1

Not consciously anyway.  This is from yesterday’s New York Times.  According to Dr. David Kessler, author of “The End of Overeating:  Taking Control of the Insatiable American Appetite”, “resisting certain foods is “not an issue of willpower…or about shame and humiliation.”  Insidious self-loathing is neither useful nor healthy.  It can lead to other unhealthy behaviors resulting in weight gain such as binge-eating.  This then becomes a vicious cycle.

So let’s break this cycle once and for all.  In order to do that, we must understand how this all started in the first place so we can intelligently undo the madness and be done with it once and for all.  Please note:  It has little to do with willpower.  This is the topic of my next lecture on June 16th:  The End of Overeating and Food Addiction.  Call (212) 779-1744 to reserve your seat.  I hope to see you there.
