The Metabolic Syndrome

Friday, August 21

Our major chronic diseases, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer all have one thing in common:  Insulin resistance.  Insulin resistance is a hallmark of the metabolic syndrome, also known as insulin resistance syndrome or Syndrome X.  According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), an estimated 76 million Americans are walking around with this condition—many of them unwittingly.

The good news is the risk factors for the metabolic syndrome are completely reversible with nutrition and lifestyle changes.  This is the topic of my next lecture in September.  Call (212) 779-1744 to reserve your seat.
